South Korean Students Dive into Catholic OKLAHOMA CITY — Sacred Heart School is playing host for a month to 13 students from South Korea. The visitors will be at the school as part of an English immersion program. Principal Joana Camacho said Educational and Cultural Inter-actions, a firm that arranges student exchange visits between schools throughout the world, contacted her and set up the visit. Camacho said the students are all in fourth grade in South Korea, but here some are dropping to lower grades while others are able to move into higher-grade work. Camacho said grade placement mostly depends on English proficiency. One South Korean teacher traveled with the students and 10 host families at Sacred Heart have welcomed them into their homes during the one-month stay. Camacho said the South Korean students have received a warm greeting from the students at Sacred Heart. The ethnic diversity at Sacred Heart School has
provided the South Koreans with a realistic portrait of the
makeup of the United States, Camacho said.
