    ABUSE OF MINORS PASTORAL RESPONSE HOTLINE

    For the safety of children and the healing of victims, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City provides an Abuse of Minors Pastoral Response Hotline for reporting the abuse of a minor (in the past or presently) by a member of the clergy or other church personnel.  Calls to this number will be answered by the Archdiocesan Assistance Coordinator who will offer to meet with the caller in person, if the caller so desires.  The Assistance Coordinator will also assist you in making a formal complaint to the Archdiocese, arranging a personal meeting with the Archbishop or his representative and in obtaining support and pastoral counseling.

    Calls are confidential with the following exceptions:

    ·        Any allegation of sexual or physical abuse or neglect concerning those who currently are minors must be reported to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (1-800-522-3511) as required by Oklahoma laws and Archdiocesan policies. 

    ·        Any allegation of sexual misconduct must be shared with the proper Archdiocesan authorities.

    ·        Local law enforcement agencies may also be contacted.

    In addition, there are several things you may do:

    • Contact the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (1-800-522-3511).  Contacting DHS is mandatory if the victim is a minor.
    • Contact the appropriate law enforcement agency (for example the local police).
    • Contact local child protection agencies, a private attorney and or a support group.

    Para la seguridad de los niños y la sanación de las victimas, la Arquidiócesis de Oklahoma City provee una Línea Privada Para Responder a Denuncias de Abuso de Menores [abuso que ha sucedido en el pasado o que esta ocurriendo en el momento presente) por un miembro del clero u otro personal de la Iglesia] Las llamadas a este numero serán contestadas por el Coordinador de Asistencia Arquidiocesano  y se ofrecerá reunirse en persona con la persona que llama si lo desea.   El Coordinador de Asistencia también le  asistirá  en hacer una queja formal a la Arquidiócesis,  citando una reunión personal con el Arzobispo o su Representante y en obtener apoyo y consejeria pastoral.   

     Todas las llamadas son confidenciales, con las excepciones siguientes:

    • Las leyes de Oklahoma y  las pólizas Arquidiocesanas exigen que cualquier queja de abuso sexual o físico o negligencia, hacia a aquellos que actualmente son menores de edad debe ser denunciada al Departamento de Servicios Humanos (DHS)  (1-800-522-3511)
    • Cualquier queja de mala conducta sexual debe ser denunciada con las propias autoridades Arquidiocesanas.
    • Agencias locales de Policía también pueden ser notificadas

    Además, hay algunas cosas que usted puede hacer:

    • Debe informar al Departamento de Servicios Humanos (DHS)  al 1-800-522-3511.  Este paso es obligatorio si la victima es un menor de edad.
    • Debe informar a la policía local.
    • Debe consultar  un abogado privado o a un grupo de apoyo para estas situaciones.
