1 Mary, Mother of God - Solemnity - Holy Day of Obligation

9 The Benedictine Oblates of Red Plains Monastery will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. They join the Community for Vespers, followed by a pot-luck dinner. For more information, contact Sister Eunice at 373-4565 or osbokc@ionet.net.

9 Film & Discussion Series at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish at 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  This month’s movie will be:  Millions, Directed by Danny Boyle, 2005. Films will be shown in their entirety with an Introduction, and a Discussion following. Concessions and Childcare will be provided by the Parish. 12 Michael Reardon to perform in OKC. You are invited to a spectacular and dramatic presentation of scripture, light, and movement when Michael Reardon prayerfully and powerfully proclaims THE GOSPEL OF LUKE, directed by Patrick Lane.  This is a contemporary translation of scripture, proclaimed in the oral tradition of the early church, designed with music, lighting, and costuming.  A reception to meet the artists will follow the event. This event is free and open to all at St. Francis Parish in the Church at 7 p.m.

14-Feb 11 Meditation, Contemplation, Lectio Divina Workshop (Thursdays for five weeks) 7- 8:30 p.m. In these five weeks we will explore getting in touch with God through prayer methods such as meditation, contemplation, and the ancient but timeless methods of Lectio Divina.There will be no book requirements for these meetings, but there will be handout material. 18-March 25 Mantra according to 20th Century Benedictine monk, John Main Workshop (Thursdays for six weeks) at 7- 8:30 p.m. Participants will prepare for Easter by spending the six weeks of Lent deepening their relationship with God by using the mantra method of meditation. Participants will receive a book titled The Gethsemani Talks  by John Main, OSB. Registration closes January 31, fee is $10.
